This history park sits in the foothills of the Superstition Mountains on North Apache Trail. Indoor and outdoor exhibits cover regional history, mining and model railroading, along with displays on local geology, Indigenous culture, early settlers, the building of Roosevelt Dam and the tourist trade. A Lost Dutchman Mine exhibit tackles the region's best-known legend.
Outside, look for a 20-stamp ore mill and for a chapel, gallows and barn salvaged from the 1969 fire at the Apacheland Movie Ranch, a Western film set that opened in 1960. From October to April the museum runs a program of events that has included a Native American Arts Festival and weekly lectures on local history and legends.
