The 2027 Cactus League season opens on Friday, February 19, 2027, with eight games across the Phoenix area, and ends on Tuesday, March 23, 2027, when the Brewers play the Cubs at Sloan Park in Mesa at 12:05 p.m. In between, the league's published schedule lists 229 games for 15 Major League teams at 10 ballparks, all within about an hour's drive of each other. Most games with a listed start time begin at 1:05 or 1:10 p.m., and a few evening games begin between 5:05 and 6:10 p.m. Ticket sales open team by team: some 2027 seats were already on sale in early November 2026, and others had not been released yet.
Quick facts (checked November 7, 2026)
- Dates: February 19 to March 23, 2027. Opening Day has eight games. The last day has one.
- Teams and parks: 15 teams at 10 ballparks in Phoenix, Glendale, Goodyear, Surprise, Peoria, Scottsdale, Tempe and Mesa.
- Game times: where listed, mostly 1:05 or 1:10 p.m. As of November 7, every game at Salt River Fields, Scottsdale Stadium, Goodyear Ballpark and Tempe Diablo Stadium still showed a start time of "TBD."
- Tickets on sale: Athletics single games and White Sox mini-plans were on sale. Diamondbacks tickets go on sale December 10 at 10 a.m. Arizona time. Most other teams told fans to "check back."
- Prices: set by each team. The Giants say "market pricing applies," so prices can change with demand.
- Heat: the normal average high at Phoenix Sky Harbor is about 71 °F in February and 78 °F in March. Both months in 2026 were the warmest on record.

Which teams train where
The Cactus League has hosted spring training in Arizona since 1947. Five ballparks are shared by two teams each, so those parks host about 30 home games a season, while single-team parks host 15 to 17.
| Ballpark | City | Team(s) | 2027 games listed |
|---|---|---|---|
| American Family Fields of Phoenix | Phoenix | Milwaukee Brewers | 15 |
| Camelback Ranch-Glendale | Glendale | Los Angeles Dodgers, Chicago White Sox | 30 |
| Goodyear Ballpark | Goodyear | Cincinnati Reds, Cleveland Guardians | 30 |
| Hohokam Stadium | Mesa | Athletics | 16 |
| Peoria Sports Complex | Peoria | Seattle Mariners, San Diego Padres | 31 |
| Salt River Fields at Talking Stick | Scottsdale | Arizona Diamondbacks, Colorado Rockies | 30 |
| Scottsdale Stadium | Scottsdale | San Francisco Giants | 15 |
| Sloan Park | Mesa | Chicago Cubs | 17 |
| Surprise Stadium | Surprise | Kansas City Royals, Texas Rangers | 30 |
| Tempe Diablo Stadium | Tempe | Los Angeles Angels | 15 |
The parks fall into two groups, with central Phoenix between them. The West Valley group is Surprise, Peoria, Camelback Ranch, American Family Fields and Goodyear. The East Valley group is Scottsdale Stadium, Salt River Fields, Tempe Diablo, Sloan Park and Hohokam. Within each group, no two parks are more than about 35 minutes apart by car.
West Valley ballparks
Surprise Stadium (15850 N. Bullard Avenue, Surprise) opened in 2002 and seats 10,500. It sits on a 124-acre site with six full practice fields. The Cactus League describes "plentiful free parking and free daily access to the team practice fields." It is the farthest park from the airport, about 34 miles from Phoenix Sky Harbor.

Peoria Sports Complex (16101 N. 83rd Avenue, Peoria) opened in 1994 as the first spring training ballpark built for two teams. It has the most games on the 2027 schedule, with 31, and the league notes its "vast lawn seating."

Camelback Ranch-Glendale (10710 W. Camelback Road) covers 141 acres, the largest campus in the league. A five-acre water feature, with a connected lake, river and pond, divides it into a White Sox side to the west and a Dodgers side to the east. Parking is free, and the league lists free morning workouts as part of the visit.

American Family Fields of Phoenix (3805 N. 53rd Avenue) is the only Cactus League park inside the City of Phoenix. It has 7,000 fixed seats, a shaded concourse and berm seating.

Goodyear Ballpark (1933 S. Ballpark Way, Goodyear) is the westernmost park of the group. Its concourse runs all the way around the field, and it has a lawn seating area.

East Valley ballparks
Scottsdale Stadium (7408 E. Osborn Road) has hosted Cactus League games since the 1950s and the Giants since 1984. The current stadium opened in 1992, and Old Town Scottsdale is a short walk away. After every 1:05 p.m. home game, children 12 and under and adults 65 and older can run or walk the bases. They meet at section 122.
Salt River Fields at Talking Stick (7555 N. Pima Road) is on the land of the Salt River Pima-Maricopa Indian Community, about 6 miles from Scottsdale Stadium. The ballpark seats 11,000 on a 140-acre site. The league says the seating was positioned to reduce direct sun, and that many seats stay in shade for much of a game.
Tempe Diablo Stadium (2200 W. Alameda Drive, Tempe) opened in 1968 and was renovated in 2005 for $20 million. It is the closest park to Sky Harbor, about 6 miles away, and the whole stadium is cashless, including parking.

Sloan Park (2330 W. Rio Salado Parkway, Mesa) opened in 2014 next to Riverview Park, near Loops 101 and 202. Hohokam Stadium (1235 N. Center Street, Mesa) first hosted the Athletics in 1977, and the team returned 37 years later to the renovated stadium. Sloan Park and Hohokam are about 4 miles apart, so they are the easiest pair to combine on back-to-back days.

Tickets and lawn seats
Each team sells its own tickets, and the Cactus League schedule links each game to that team's ticket page. As of November 7, 2026:
- Athletics (Hohokam): "2027 Spring Training tickets are on sale now."
- White Sox (Camelback Ranch): 2027 mini-plans were on sale.
- Diamondbacks (Salt River Fields): Spring Training tickets go on sale December 10 at 10 a.m. MST.
- Giants (Scottsdale): single-game details still to come. Their pricing page says "market pricing applies to all tickets," with rates that move with demand.
- Reds, Guardians, Angels, Mariners, Royals and Brewers: schedule out, ticket details not yet released.
We have left prices out on purpose. No team had published 2027 prices in a form we could check, and with market pricing, a fixed figure would be out of date quickly.
Lawn seats are usually the cheapest way in, and most parks have them. They are general admission and first come, first served, so arrive early if you want a good spot. Rules differ by park. At Sloan Park, blankets and towels are allowed, but "stadium seats, elevated lawn chairs or any seats with legs are prohibited." At Scottsdale Stadium, blankets, towels and stadium seats are allowed, lawn chairs are not, and lawn ticket holders enter at Gate F. Tempe Diablo allows blankets and towels, not lawn chairs. Hohokam bans elevated chairs but allows soft chairs whose seat rests on the ground.

Planning a multi-game trip
With 6 to 8 games on most days from February 19 to March 20, you can easily see one game a day for a week. Two games in one day is possible only when one starts in the evening. The 2027 schedule lists 21 evening games, beginning on Wednesday, March 3. That night the Rangers play the Dodgers at Camelback Ranch at 6:05, the Brewers play the Royals at Surprise at 6:05, and the Giants play the Athletics at Hohokam at 6:10. Friday, March 19, has five evening games. Times at four parks were still "TBD," so the number of evening games may grow.
Some patterns to plan around:
- Opening weekend (February 19 to 21) has eight games a day.
- The final days are thin. There are five games on Sunday, March 21, three on Monday, March 22, and only Brewers at Cubs on Tuesday, March 23. If you want variety, finish your trip by March 20 or 21.
- Pick one side of the Valley for each day. A Surprise-to-Mesa drive is about 45 miles. Sloan Park to Hohokam is 4.
- Shared parks give you more games. Peoria, Surprise, Camelback Ranch, Goodyear and Salt River Fields each have about 30 games, close to one every day of the season.
- Rain: the Giants say games cancelled for rain are not replayed. Check each team's rainout policy before you buy.
Some matchups on the schedule are labelled "SPLIT." These are split-squad days, when one club sends two teams to play two games at once.
Driving between ballparks
Most visitors drive between ballparks. The times below are routing estimates from OpenStreetMap data without traffic. Allow extra time on Loop 101, I-10 and I-17 around game times.
| From | To | Distance | Time (no traffic) |
|---|---|---|---|
| Sky Harbor Airport | Tempe Diablo Stadium | about 6 miles | about 12 minutes |
| Sky Harbor Airport | Goodyear Ballpark | about 27 miles | about 35 minutes |
| Sky Harbor Airport | Surprise Stadium | about 34 miles | about 47 minutes |
| Scottsdale Stadium | Salt River Fields | about 6 miles | about 12 minutes |
| Scottsdale Stadium | Sloan Park | about 7 miles | about 12 minutes |
| Sloan Park | Hohokam Stadium | about 4 miles | about 10 minutes |
| Tempe Diablo Stadium | Sloan Park | about 9 miles | about 16 minutes |
| Camelback Ranch | Peoria Sports Complex | about 11 miles | about 16 minutes |
| Camelback Ranch | Goodyear Ballpark | about 12 miles | about 20 minutes |
| Peoria Sports Complex | Surprise Stadium | about 10 miles | about 19 minutes |
| Surprise Stadium | Hohokam Stadium | about 45 miles | about 62 minutes |
Parking. Camelback Ranch and Surprise have free parking. Sloan Park charges by lot, takes cards only and opens its lots four hours before the first pitch. Hohokam is the reverse: the stadium is cashless, but its on-site parking takes cash only. Tempe Diablo is cashless throughout, parking included.
Transit. Sloan Park is the only ballpark whose official guide gives a specific public-transport route. Take Valley Metro Rail to Sycamore/Main Street, then bus route 96 (Dobson), which stops less than a mile from the park. On Cubs home game days, a free shuttle runs from the Mesa Riverview shopping center across from the park (about every 20 minutes from around 11 a.m.), and a trolley runs from Tempe Marketplace (about every 30 minutes). Rideshare drop-off at Sloan Park is outside the right-field gate.
Sun and heat at day games
Normal average highs at Phoenix Sky Harbor are 70.8 °F in February and 78.1 °F in March. Recent springs have run much hotter. February 2026 averaged a high of 80.0 °F, and March 2026 averaged 92.9 °F, the warmest of each month since records began in 1896. Sky Harbor reached 105 °F on March 19, 20 and 21, 2026. Normal lows are near 49 °F in February and 54 °F in March, so evening games can turn cool.
Most games start at 1 p.m., when the sun is highest, and shade is limited:
- Sloan Park: "shade is not guaranteed in any section." Most Infield Reserved seats are shaded throughout the game.
- Scottsdale Stadium: limited shade in sections 305 and 306 and 200 to 204. Third-base seats face into the sun, and first-base seats have it behind them.
- Hohokam: the upper grandstand sections, from 216 in left field around to 215 in right field, are mostly shaded. Most 100-level seats are in full sun all day.
- Salt River Fields: the seating was positioned to cut direct sun, and many seats stay shaded for much of a game.
Bring water and check each park's rules first. Sloan Park has refill stations. Scottsdale allows sealed plastic bottles up to 32 ounces. Hohokam allows one factory-sealed bottle per person. Aerosol sunscreen is banned at Sloan Park but allowed at Hohokam and Scottsdale, so a lotion is the safe choice. Sloan Park also bans bags larger than 16 x 16 x 8 inches and hard coolers.
Practices and the backfields
Several teams let fans watch workouts on their practice fields for free, which is a good way to see players close up on a morning before a game:
- Cubs (Mesa): the practice fields at the Nike Performance Center and Riverview Baseball Complex, including the Minor League quad fields, are open to the public. On non-game days, practices "often begin at 9 a.m. and run until approximately 12:30 p.m." Fields 3 to 6, on the far west side, have open access, and parking is free on days with workouts only.
- Royals and Rangers (Surprise): the league describes "free daily access to the team practice fields."
- Dodgers and White Sox (Camelback Ranch): free morning workouts and free parking.
- Giants (Scottsdale): free entry through Home Plate Plaza during open practices, and again after the seventh-inning stretch at every game.
Practice times change daily and depend on the weather, so check the team's schedule the night before.
Days off from baseball
Morning practices and 1 p.m. games still leave time for sightseeing. In Phoenix, the Desert Botanical Garden is an outdoor choice for a cooler morning, and the Musical Instrument Museum is a good indoor choice on a hot afternoon. From Scottsdale Stadium, Frank Lloyd Wright's Taliesin West is about 13 miles north, roughly 25 minutes by car.
Practical notes
- Getting there: fly into Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport. Tempe Diablo Stadium is about 12 minutes away. Surprise and Goodyear take 35 to 50 minutes without traffic.
- Schedule and tickets: the full 2027 schedule is at cactusleague.com/schedule.php, with a ticket link for each game. Buy from the home team.
- Parking: free at Camelback Ranch and Surprise; cards only at Sloan Park and Tempe Diablo; cash only at Hohokam.
- Transit: only Sloan Park has an official rail-and-bus route (Valley Metro Rail to Sycamore/Main Street, then bus 96).
- Gates: Sloan Park opens 90 minutes before the first pitch, and Hohokam opens 1.5 hours before.
- Payment: Sloan Park, Hohokam, Tempe Diablo and Scottsdale Stadium are cashless inside. Sloan Park and Tempe Diablo have reverse ATMs that turn cash into a card.
Dates, game times and ticket status here are as the Cactus League and the teams published them on November 7, 2026. Start times at four ballparks were still "TBD," and most teams had not yet released 2027 ticket details.
